Repository layouts
How Kalauz handles single repos, monorepos, and multiple repositories.
A project in Kalauz is a folder you've added — usually the root of a git repository. How you map your code onto projects depends on its shape. These pages cover the three common cases.
Adding a project
Add project and pick a folder. Kalauz checks whether it's a git repo, resolves an icon for the sidebar, and detects a setup command from what it finds at the root. Each project lists its workspaces beneath it in the sidebar.

Pick your layout
- Single repository — one repo, the common case.
- Monorepos — one repo holding many packages or apps.
- Multiple repositories — several repos side by side in one window.
The common thread
Whatever the layout, the unit of work is always a workspace — a branch and a git worktree cut from a project. Detection and setup scripts run at the repo root; see Testing for tuning them per project.
